Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for maximum juiciness)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or homemade seasoning mix)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 4 burger buns (brioche or potato buns work best)
- Lettuce, for topping
- Tomato slices, for topping
- Pickles, for topping
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice (for the sauce)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting the buns)

Instructions:
- Prepare the burger patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ranch seasoning mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Gently mix the ingredients together (don’t overwork the meat). Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than your burger buns to account for shrinkage while cooking.
- Cook the patties: Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or longer if you prefer your burgers more well-done. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt.
- Toast the buns: While the burgers are cooking, spread a little butter on the inside of each burger bun. Place them, buttered side down, in a separate pan or on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Make the secret sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and dill pickle juice. Stir well to combine, then set aside.
- Assemble the burgers: Spread a generous amount of the secret sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with the cooked, cheesy burger patty, and then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles.
- Serve: Place the top bun on each burger, and serve hot with your favorite sides, like crispy fries or onion rings.
Tips:
- Customizable toppings: Feel free to swap out the lettuce, tomato, or pickles with other toppings like crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, or caramelized onions.
- Make it spicier: Add a few jalapeño slices or a drizzle of sriracha to the secret sauce for some heat.
- Grilled onions: If you like a little extra flavor, top the burgers with caramelized onions for an added layer of sweetness.
