These Apple Fritter Bites are the perfect blend of soft, cinnamon-spiced apple chunks, deep-fried to golden perfection, and drizzled with a sweet glaze. They’re mini, bite-sized versions of the classic apple fritter that you can enjoy in a single bite. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or a dessert treat!
Ingredients:
For the Apple Fritter Bites:
- 2 medium apples (preferably tart apples like Granny Smith), peeled and diced
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:
- Prepare the apples: Peel and dice the apples into small cubes. Set them aside.
- Make the batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. The batter will be thick.
- Fold in the apples: Gently fold the diced apples into the batter.
- Heat the oil: In a deep pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You’ll need enough oil to submerge the fritter bites. Test the oil by dropping a small bit of batter into it—if it bubbles up immediately, the oil is ready.
- Fry the fritter bites: Drop spoonfuls of the batter (about 1 tablespoon each) into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Drain the fritters: Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritter bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using) until smooth.
- Glaze the fritters: Drizzle the glaze over the warm apple fritter bites.
- Serve and enjoy: Serve these warm, crispy, and delicious apple fritter bites for breakfast, dessert, or as a sweet treat!
Tips:
- For a lighter version, you can bake the apple fritter bites at 375°F (190°C) on a lined baking sheet for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Make sure the oil temperature stays consistent while frying. If the oil is too hot, they’ll brown too quickly on the outside without cooking through.
- If you want an extra crunch, you can coat the fritters with a little bit of sugar and cinnamon before serving.
- These can also be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for a few days. Just reheat in the oven to restore their crispiness.
