Ingredients:
For the Chili:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz) chili with beans (or no beans, if preferred)
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Crescent Rolls:
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or your preferred type)
Toppings (Optional):
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Diced onions
- Sliced jalapeños
- Sour cream
- Mustard or ketchup

Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Chili
- Brown the beef: In a medium skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the chili: Stir in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the can of chili with beans (or without if preferred), and stir to combine. Let the chili simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Adjust the seasoning as needed. Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Crescent Rolls
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into the individual triangles as per the package instructions.
- Wrap the hot dogs: Place a hot dog at the wide end of each crescent triangle and roll it up tightly.
- Arrange on a baking sheet: Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, leaving a little space between each one.
Step 3: Bake the Crescent Roll Chili Dogs
- Bake the rolls: Bake the crescent rolls according to package instructions, usually around 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Assemble the chili dogs: Once baked, remove the crescent roll dogs from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the prepared chili on top of each one.
Step 4: Add Toppings
- Garnish: Top your crescent roll chili dogs with shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, sliced jalapeños, or any other toppings of your choice.
- Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, like fries or a salad.
Tips:
- Make it spicy: Add a little extra chili powder or cayenne pepper to the chili if you like a spicier kick.
- Use turkey dogs: For a lighter version, swap regular hot dogs with turkey or chicken hot dogs.
- Add a crunch: For added texture, sprinkle some crushed tortilla chips or onions on top before serving.
- Make ahead: The chili can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Simply reheat it before serving.
