Oreo Cake Balls

These Oreo Cake Balls are a no-bake dessert made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and a luscious chocolate coating. Perfect for holidays, parties, or gifting, these bite-sized treats are easy to make and incredibly indulgent!

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (or candy melts)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother coating)
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos:
    • Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Reserve 2–3 tablespoons of crumbs for garnish if desired.
  2. Make the Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the crushed Oreos with the cream cheese until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Shape the Balls:
    • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll into balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 20–30 minutes, or until firm.
  4. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
  5. Dip the Cake Balls:
    • Using a fork or candy dipping tool, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing it back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Decorate:
    • While the coating is still wet, sprinkle with reserved Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, or drizzle with melted white chocolate.
  7. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the cake balls for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
