Ingredients (Makes 4 burgers)

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Dijon mustard until smooth. Set aside.

2. Season the Beef

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly.

3. Form Patties

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than your buns (they’ll shrink while cooking).

4. Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties about 4 minutes per side for medium, or until desired doneness. During the last minute, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

5. Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

6. Assemble the Burgers

Spread the secret sauce on both top and bottom buns. Add lettuce to the bottom bun, then the cheesy patty, crispy bacon slices, tomato slices, and pickles if using. Top with the bun.
