Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme if preferred)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or white wine for extra depth of flavor)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (or a mix of basil, oregano, and thyme)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:
Step 1: Season and Cook the Chicken
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme.
- Cook the chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C). Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Savory Garlic Sauce
- Sauté garlic and onion: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened and translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Deglaze the pan: Add the chicken broth (or white wine) to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. This will help infuse the sauce with flavor.
- Make the sauce creamy: Pour in the heavy cream, and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add Parmesan and seasoning: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Combine and Serve
- Return the chicken: Add the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the chicken. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 3-5 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb some of the creamy flavor.
- Garnish and serve: Once the chicken is coated in the creamy garlic sauce, remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
Tips:
- Make it extra creamy: For an even richer sauce, you can add a splash of cream cheese or mascarpone cheese.
- Add vegetables: Sauté mushrooms or spinach along with the garlic and onion for extra flavor and texture.
- Chicken thighs: If using chicken thighs, they might take a bit longer to cook (about 8-10 minutes per side), but they’ll stay juicy and tender.
